On the morning of September 11, 2001, four U.S. planes were hijacked. At 8:45 AM, the first plane hit Tower 1 of the World Trade Center, and at 9:03 AM another plane hit Tower 2. The other two planes were destined for Washington D.C. One of those two crashed into the Pentagon, not long after the World Trade Center attack. The other one was, investigators say, probably headed for the White House or the U.S. Capitol. However, it crashed into a field 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Investigators concluded that the passengers on that plane tried to override the hijackers, but the plane crashed into the field due to possible lack of momentum. The passengers on that plane are heroes in my eyes, braving death to stand up to the hijackers. They gave their lives fighting to save hundreds of others.

About a half an hour to forty-five minutes after the towers were hit, Tower 1 collapsed, and a while later, Tower 2 followed. Many people were badly wounded and many died. I, personally, extend my deepest condolences to the families of the missing and the families of the ones who have passed on. We, as Americans, must work together to take a stand against terrorism.
